Meyendorff, John
(b. 1926)
   Theologian and Historian.
   Meyendorff was awarded a doctorate from the Sorbonne, Paris. He has spent his career in the United States of America, where he has taught at both Harvard and Fordham Universities. He is regarded as an international authority on Eastern Orthodox Christianity and is himself an Orthodox priest. He has made the work of St Gregory palamas his special study and he has been instrumental in the revival of interest in Palamite theology. His other books include The Orthodox Church, Christ in Eastern Thought and Byzantine Theology.
